Anyone with RNY not have problems with gas?

I have a sleeve and am having indescribable issues with GERD. I am really apprehensive about a switch to RNY, especially after I read that a side effect can be uncontrollable gas that cannot be controlled with medication.

Anybody not have gas after RNY?

Anybody been able to control it if they do?

I don't have uncontrollable gas. I do get gassy if I eat carbs such as something that has white flour. But not to the point were I can't control it.

I have much less gas. That's probably attributed to the fact that carbs are a very minor/non existent part of my diet though...

I've read that too, and I was worried, but at almost 8 weeks out, all is good! (and I can hold it until I'm somewhere I can let it all loose when I do have some!)

I do not have gas issues. I'm about 2 1/2 mos out. TMI - I had much more gas before the surgery. Now, it's rare but when I do... it smells worse than it ever did "before"

I'm 4 years out and don't have an issue with gas as long as I stay away from carbs and certain sugar alcohols. Much less gas than before surgery in my case!

I am only 4 weeks post op but i have not had uncontrollable has since surgery. Like someone else mentioned though I do think that when I do have to pass gas the smell is worse then it ever was before. I was scared of uncontrollable gas too but I hope I continue to not have that problem.

3 months out and no gas problems here.  Like others have said, I'm probably less gassy!

I have much less gas now than I did pre-RNY. Like the above reply, when I eat crappy carbs (especially sugar) I get gas, but I eat healthy and do not indulge very often. Even when I do, I never pass gas "uncontrollably". It is not an issue I ever deal with.

I only get gas if I eat foods that caused me has before surgery or too many sugar alcohols. Oh,  and ice cream,  but I'm not supposed to eat that anyway.
