Ashley will just have to put on her UV glasses and have her entire body done at once.

You know I live in Japan now Berry Sister.  Now I know this is a cat, but you should know that I see on a daily basis, woman pushing hairless dogs around in strollers that cost more than my car, wearing Channel coats, with Prada doggie diaper bags hanging off the back.  These gals meet up in doggie cafes and have pet friendly meals and discuss the benefits of paper training versus traditional grass elimination ( OK, I'm guessing about that last part as they are chatting in Japanese, but I can't be too far off base).

I will take some photos for you because it is become my inspiration for hairlessness....

Please do!  You know I have always wanted to visit my country of origin.  I can live vicariously through you.

On topic -- one of my students (from Japan!) brought me an "at home" laser  -- and I used it last year.  I am happy to tell you that after 5 sessions -- I didn't have to shave my legs the entire rest of the summer!!  It was amazing -- it's only now spottily showing up again.  I need to start touch up sessions before spring hits here.

I didn't do any areas that the current American president would grab.  I was too afraid to at the time.  I might be willing to try it now.

I did try to do my chin/face.  It didn't have as dramatic results -- but I think it may have had I kept up regularly with it.

You are getting settled in Japan in style! I recently had a consult to consider doing laser removal of pesky chin hairs. I opted against it- partly due to costs, partly due to the fact I have so few and get an odd sense of pleasure from plucking. Also, know that lasering doesn't work well on gray hairs.  I had skin tags removed via laser... that's a different type of process so I don't mind saying it hurt like a *****!

When people make the face of sadness when I tell them I have only sons, no daughters, I always say that the only regret I have about having three boys is that I won't have a daughter to pluck out the hairs on my chin when I am in the old folks home.  Now?  Problem solved!

Unfortunately, lasers also don't work so well on darker skin.  It sucks.  My good friend spent a **** ton of money on laser hair removal and they did not advise of her of this.  She's an attorney, so she did a lot of research later after it wholly failed -- turns out that they shouldn't have done it on her and she got her $2500 back.

The dermo actually warned me of this as in a previous life (from birth til I turned 20 and moved to Europe) I lived in California and was tan year round and have olive toned skin.  He warned me that the laser can burn the skin, blistering it and causes discoloration and or scaring.  Especially in darker skin...  Huh.  I figure even if that happens, I am not sure I care about what the interior of my arm pits look like!  How much worse can it look?

I am starting off with arm pits and calves.  Will work up to the big stuff if I can tolerate the sessions.  But I am holding off on the face til I see the results first hand.

See - no floral arrangement classes for me, no guided tours of museums, no calligraphy course - I am spending my time on hair removal
