Thanks, Daisy! That's a good point about "snacks" and these are all great ideas.

I'm in the same boat as you with struggling to find healthy snack options. I'm 18 months post op and absolutely sick of yogurt and cheese sticks! I don't really have any ideas for you, but I have found that I don't find myself wanting to graze nearly as bad on days when I meet my water goals. Are you still drinking enough water?

I thought that would be the case but I've been hitting my 100 oz goal everyday for the last week and the cravings seem to be getting worse. I'm convinced it's hormonal stuff that I need to get figured out. I have an appt with a new doctor for a second opinion, but I can't get in to see her until the 11th. She has great ratings though so I'm going to tough it out until then. Could not agree more about the yogurt and cheese sticks hahaha!

Berries are the lowest glycemic index fruit. Your snacks still need to be protein forward. So maybe berries with Greek yogurt.

You need to weigh your fruit though- just eyeballing a small or medium apple doesn't work. Recently bought a cantaloupe and bagged it in sandwich bags in portions they were about 50 calories and 12g carb.

Fruit doesn't have to be a never more like an occasional when in weight loss mode

I try to make my snacks similar to what I have for meals, meat or cheese. I package up a few slices of deli turkey or string cheese and take those along. Much healthier than eating crackers or other carbs.

Snacking can get away from you and lead to bad habits returning. I have to limit myself to these six. That way if I'm tempted to eat something I say is it on my profile. Saved me many times.

Any nut weighed up to .5 ounces. I find more than that isn't any more satisfying.

Jerky with less than 6g sugar per portion

reduced fat cheese

popsicles sf

eggface protein cookies no more than 3. that's about .15 of a quest bar each

One ounce lunch meat

I do eat fresh berries, 1/4 cup, mixed in with my plain Greek yogurt, usually for breakfast. I've also had some watermelon this summer (yum). I make sure to check my fitness pal first to see what the stats are if I try something new.

I often will choose one of these for snacks: pepperette, string or babybel light cheese, 3 pickles, jerky, dehydrated zucchini chips (home made), 6 cherry tomatoes with salt and pepper.

Do you have a dehydrator or do you do the zuchinni chips in the oven? lol I have the stuff coming out of my ears from the garden.

I have a dehydrator, but you can use the oven, just be careful not to burn them. You want them crispy but not overdone. I use a mandolin to slice them really thinly. I like them best with a bit of salt and pepper added, but you can use any spice. I'm going to go buy some BBQ popcorn spice and try it with that; can't wait! One medium zucchini only makes a small baggie of chips, so it's great that you have a lot in your garden. I wish! Ours aren't ready yet so I'm still buying them.

I also love zucchini noodles, done up in my spiraliser. Fun and healthy, lol.
