First NSV

I had my first NSV today! I went in to see the Dr. and for the first time in about a decade and a half they used the regular adult cuff when taking my blood pressure instead of the extra large one. I know it might be an insignificant thing to some people, but to me it was a BIG DEAL. I didn't even realize how much I hated that XL cuff until I saw the nurse pulling out the other one.

Just wanted to share.

That is a big deal! I remember how annoying it was to always have to ask them to find the large cuff, as too small a cuff will give you a false high. Sometimes they'd bring out a thigh cuff, which was mortifying.

The cool thing about being here is that getting to use the normal cuff is a HUGE thing around here!!! We all understand, and totally are celebrating with you!!!

Congratulations! NSVs really are the best!

That must have been an amazing experience. They havent used the "regular" one on me in about 2 decades. This made me feel like I was an abnormal human or unneccsarily exsisted & a burden on the medical community. Now instead of hooking the big girl one up they take my pressure on my forearm- does that even work? First time I noticed (some make a big deal out of it as to fat shame) them hacing to switch, I was really caught off guard didnt realize I had gotten so big. So Happy for you! Cant wait until I experience this.
