Regain

Good morning!

I had RNY surgery 6 years ago. Over time I've picked up poor eating habits again and subsequently 50lbs of regain. I need support to reignite that fire of motivation I had as a newbie. I know what to do and what works. I'm just having a heck of a time making healthy choices for more than a day. I'm looking forward to connecting with people again. If you have any getting back on track inspiration I'd love to hear it.

Hugs,

selena

Many of us have found that the accountability of the Daily Menu thread is helpful. Lots of dense protein and fluids and cut the carbs!

Thank you so much! It's been a long time since I've been on OH and I can't seem to find it. Can you please tell me where to look?

Today's thread is right under yours on the RNY Forum. Come on by.

Would you say the gain would be attributed to poor food choices or portion sizes? I found when I had started to regain it was because of my portion size. I resorted to Garcinia Cambogia. It's 3 large pills taken before each meal thus filling my tummy and resulting in me eating smaller portions. My tummy began to shrink again and put me back in control of how much I was able to eat. Now my portion sizes are closer to where it was when I was a newbie and weight came off again. I don't know if this will help you but it's worked for me - twice. Best of luck to you!!

Thank you for sharing your experience, and I'm so glad it's working for you! My problem is food choices and portions. I'm eating too much of junky no nutritional value stuff and my pants and moods show it. Ugh!

It is physically impossible for your stomach to shrink without surgery.

Garcinia Cambogia does nothing to fill your stomach. GC claims to reduce appetite, but there is no convincing scientific evidence to back this up.

Just sharing what worked for me twice. Scientifically fact or fiction... I was able to use it as a tool to get BOT and was able to drop the 60 lbs I had regained. From there, returned to better choices and smaller portions. Just trying to help with ideas since I've been in the same situation. I never claimed it to be the right way of handling the situation. But appreciate that you took the time to set me straight...

I second the menu thread. I think you will find support, encouragement, friends, menu ideas there. Good luck as you get back on track, you are worth it.

Thank you! I'm looking forward to getting BOT. It'll be good to feel like me again.
