Self Payer Concern

I know that there is an extended insurance that you can also purchase that covers you for 90 days after surgery.  If you research it, I am sure you can find it.  I chose to not get it and just had the surgery.  I do believe that my insurance would have covered most complications.

It comes down to how it is coded to the insurance. Most of the time the insurance wont even know that it has anything to do with your weightloss surgery. If you have a leak and they do some form of repair they will bill a repair with a diagnosis that indicates a stomach leak. Nothing will say it was due to weight loss surgery.
