Thanksgiving! To Turkey or not to Turkey? Advice?

I'd bake a chicken breast at home.  See how that goes down first.

4 weeks after surgery, I was already eating soft meats, but it's always best to ask your surgeon's office. If you have another follow up appointment before then, I would definitely ask. If they tell you to stick with the plan, then I would forgo the turkey, as well as the mashed potatoes, stuffing, corn, or any other typical Thanksgiving meals since those options have a lot of calories and carbs with little to no protein. I would take a protein shake with me or something else on my plan that was high in protein. But that's just me!

I'd try a little at home first.  Mince the meat up finely, since you won't be able to puree it while you are out.  Add a little gravy for moisture and see how it goes.  Failing that, ask your doctor.
