Need prayers for strength
Hi Bobbio,
It makes perfect sense to me. I was hopeless about weight loss when I decided to have WLS. I set a modest goal for myself, and never thought I'd actually achieve it. But I did, 13 months after surgery. I love my sleeve and I am so happy I did this. Some days I just can't believe it is real.
As I like to say, the WLS doesn't make it easy. It is just a tool. But it makes it possible. If you follow your plan, you'll do it. The surgery changes the drive to eat so it becomes manageable, though not easy.
best wishes
Carol

Oh bobbio56. . . you sound exactly like I did about a month ago. I felt exactly the same way. My emotions were crazy crazy. My thoughts were everywhere. My family celebrates food. No, that wasn't a typo. I didn't mean my family celebrates WITH food. I literally meant that my family celebrates FOOD itself! Anything we do or plan ALWAYS centers around food. It's never healthy. It's always fatty, greasy, chewy gooey delicious wonders. But. . .just like you. . .I am determined to do this! For me! I've had 46 years of celebrating food. Now. . .NOW it's time to celebrate ME!
All of OH is here with you. and we're all really in this together. It's a personal journey with LOTS of support!
While I don't pray, I'll definitely be sending good thoughts your way. If you've done your research and follow your plan, everything will be great for you!

You're welcome! I wanted to touch base with you - how are you holding up on the pre-op diet? Are you feeling any calmer about your surgery? You've been in my thoughts!

ETA - my reply was directed towards a rude post by another OH member which as since been removed, NOT Gwen :-)
As you pointed out, this is a board for weight loss surgery support. This is not a board for you to disparage people and their beliefs. I'm an atheist myself but I see no harm in people asking others who share a belief system for prayers. You don't have to like it. I don't have to like you. But you do not need to be rude on an open forum.
