I am currently in pre-op phase and starting to eat drastically different in order to start the lifestyle change for post-op.

I was wondering, when some if you do drink, what do you have?

I am usually a vodka-club drinker but now I know no more club soda. I'm not much of a beer drinker so the fact that I'm it's no longer allowed doesn't bother me. But it seems like the options are limited...

When I drink, I drink a vodka-water with lemon and lime.  To me it's similiar to a vodka-sprite (my go to prior to surgery), without the carbonation and sugar.

I'm about 2.5 months out. I have tried a sip of wine here and there and it burned the first few times. The weekend before last I went to a friend's for the weekend and had a 1/2 glass of wine and did fine. I don't plan on doing it often either, just occasionally in social situations.

At least six months. It's liquid sugar, so there's that, and you will find it hits you like a Mack truck.

I would be moreconcerned over the calories in booze than carbonation.

I fight badgers with spoons.

I see it as the strain on my liver as the reason to avoid for at least a year.  My body is working so hard to clear itself of toxins and fat, no need to do more stress on that all important organ!
