when I took calcium that's when my bones  stopped hurting in my hip joints and everything like that so you might want to try that.

Pain in my knees was the deciding factor for me to have surgery.  It lessened as I lost weight, but the knee pain has finally abated when I reached 260 lbs.  I guess that's my magic number.  The bad news is that now I'm dealing with plantar fasciitis (heel spurs) in my left heel.  The pain can be excruciating.  All I can do is wear shoes with good support, avoid going barefoot and stretch the tendons every day.

I'm still on BP medication.

I still use my CPAP, but I don't think I need it.  I don't snore anymore.  I don't use it every night as I had in the past, and I don't have the lethargy the following day as I once did.  Once I reach my goal weight they'll schedule another sleep study to determine if the OSA has gone away completely.

I felt better within a few weeks.  Surgery was very easy for me.  Although I was easily tired as my body healed, but it wasn't long before I discovered more energy and motivation to do things.

You've probably tried this, but if you haven't... I went to a podiatrist for my plantar faciitis and got orthotics made for my feet.  They've been a life changed.  I did need to get new ones once I got under 250, but they've been super too.  It makes a HUGE difference for me.

No, I haven't done that.  I was hoping I could wait it out and let it heal, but it's just not happening.  Thanks for the suggestion.

All hail his noodley appendage!

When I let my PF heal on its own, I'm out of commission for months. :(

I remember that my joints stopped hurting when I had lost 50 pounds (385 down to 335).  That surprised me that I felt so much better after losing just 50 pounds.

My program didn't order another sleep study until I was one year post-op.  Then I was improved enough to give up the CPAP.  I had been using it for almost a decade.  It is WONDERFUL to be rid of it!

It will come.  Just keep the faith and follow the plan.

best wishes,

Carol

I have lost 52 pounds and only have half my right foot.  I also have arthritis and I don't have as much pain. I also have better balance.  I use the treadmill everyday with half a foot so if I can do it anyone can. I hate treadmill lol
