I hate my sleeve

There are times when I feel sad that I cannot eat a normal sized meal.  I see everyone around me finishing this huge plate of food, and I'm consuming about 1/4 of what they eat.  It doesn't feel fair.

So I understand where you are coming from. For me, most days, I know I am healthier and have more energy, and that is enough.  But there are days when I'm sad, too.  And that's ok.

best wishes,

Carol

Thanks Carol,

I read everything you post - you encourage me a lot without even knowing it.  I'm glad you understand.  Thanks for your encouragement.

Ha you seem so condescending in all of your responses.  I expected it to be EXACTLY like it is and you know what - I thought it wouldn't bother me but guess what - today it does, today it really sucks.  Not every one can be as "with it" as you are. I'm glad you're in therapy, I'm glad you stick to your 3 meal a day, no snack rule, I'm glad you got up and ran yesterday and I truly hope your brother noticed your weight loss and commented - it would stink if he didn't.

So, I religiously read this board, I had a good idea what it would be like and at this moment in time I don't like it.

Hi IdaRed....I do feel your "pain"...and you are being so honest with yourself.  I really commend you... My mom used to say..." nothing stays the same" ....and I think of that so often.  You probabely wont' feel this way for long.  You come to these boards for support...not to be Put Down. ..I hate when someone does that.!! I think most of us have had our bad days. It is all part of the process. As they say...just keep on keepin on...Think about how wonderful you will feel in another month or two!! THis too shall pass!!

2015 Is going to be a life changer!!

I'm sorry that things are sucking for you right now and I hope it will improve soon once you're able to eat solid food.

I'm also sorry that you found my question condescending. Many of us have weird thoughts about post-op life and, yeah, some of the changes we have to make just really suck - and nothing in life stops happening while we adapt to our new cir****tances. Dads still get cancer, pets still die, and life still goes on. And the only thing we can do is our best.

Good luck. I hope next week ends better for you than it will begin.

So there's thing called "hormone dumping."  You might want to use the search feature and read about it.

I believe your reply to Gwen was an overreaction.   I think she's always very helpful,  particularly with people like you fresh out of surgery, and never condescending.  Some people have unrealistic expectations of what life after surgery is like.   For example,  one person was eating tacos from the mall one week after surgery.   Since you have little posting history,  it's almost impossible to gauge your level of knowledge or understanding.

A topic thread entitled "I HATE MY SLEEVE" is rather provocative and would seem to come from someone having serious complications post surgery.   Since you have none, the next logical conclusion might be you weren't mentally prepared.

In any event, relax

Happy New Year!
