Worried about work.. lifting kids?
I had surgery when I had a 40 pound 2yo and a 40 pound 3.5yo. I was mothering them normally by 5 days post op - lifting and everything.
Talk with your doc, but plenty of moms have this surgery and go on taking care of their own children.
I would be more concerned with fatigue on a long day than lifting a 15 pound baby.
If you have a hernia repair, this may change the game a bit...if it is a standard VSG and you are otherwise healthy and don't have complications, you will probably be fine for caring for infants after 3 weeks no problem.
