Well, options classes at Kaiser are done, have my first appt. today with a bariatrician. I had to be cleared by her, it went well. Apparently I am fit medically for surgery. Next step, psych eval on 6/18 (unless I can squeeze in on a cancellation). Then off to the case manager. Then more waiting for pre-op, then a date. I'll keep you all posted. I am so grateful for the folks on this board, you inspire me.

I know it seems like a forever process but it really does all get over at some point.  I thought since I didn't have a 6 month diet like a lot of folks do, I could get by quickly but my group wanted 12 support/training meetings so it took me just as long as everyone else.  In the long run, I think I was very prepared for surgery and everything after.  So just keep on keeping on and know that you are on your way.

Good luck on all your prerequisites!
I view them as a precurser to the rest of your life.  You'll be following up with the doctors on labs etc for a while, even after surgery.  This is a good time to get to know them.

Awesome!  You are getting closer to you new life!!!  Glad you joined our LW group.  I was so thankful that I had a 6 month diet to do because It gave me time to listen and learn from all of the LW's.

You are getting there!!  I'm glad I had the pre surgery requirements also.  It gave me time to study and think about this and get ready for my life to be changed!!

If you can, try to start some type of exercise even if it is just walking around the block or something to get your body in the best shape for your surgery.

Can't wait to follow your journey.

Linda

Thanks Everyone, I am so glad I found the LW board. I also follow the VSG board. Between the two, and my DH's experience, I have learned so much. Actually, more than I learned in the options classes.  I had 12 weeks of classes, 3 of them were about vitamins and how to read a protein shake label. So, I read up from you all, much more informative.
