Protein shakes, powder, etc.
Could you fill me in on your addition of protein to your meal plans post surgery? Curious as to the amount that you drink, the rate at which you drink them, etc.?
Also, what about the vitamin situation? How many? How often? Are the chewable or gummy type acceptable with the gastric sleeve?
I have lots of question, I know. But who better to hear it from then those who have walked the road before me?

Ellen,
I had a different surgery so my vitamins would be different since I had a malabsorption surgery. I'm sure someone that had a sleeve will post for you.
Most days I do 4 protein drinks a day, but I'm 3 years out. I have a hard time eating anything before lunch time so I do a Protein Decaf Coffee for breakfast and then a mid morning protein drink, mid afternoon protein drink and have recently added one before bed to alleviate a snacking habit I had fallen into... I try to keep my protein over 100 grams a day, but like I said I'm almost 3 years out.

VSG here! We had a goal of 60-89 g protein per day. Granted it was difficult to get in at first so any fluids were good. Then started to gradually add mushy texture foods then on to solids. Vitamins we're chewable at first but by week 2 I was on a RX pre-natal plus B12. I have never been on iron. My labs are perfect! I went to OSU and believe their program PDF is google-able.
I'm sure others will chime in.

I'm almost 2 yrs out with RNY. I have 3-4 protein drinks a day and love them. I also eat 4 meals a day so I am eating or drinking all the time.
For RNY, I do 2 multivits, one am one pm, 1500 calcuim citrate, D3, B12 daily. Iron 3x a week. But RNY is a malabsorbing surgery so we may be different than what is needed for a sleeve. I don't think gummies are recommended for any because they are not complete. My multis are chewable because I like them but I could be doing a pill instead.
