My typical work day looks like this lately..... Am I headed down a slippery slope w those frap's??? I know they have Carbs -- sugar free base and syrups are used. I take a walk daily so it's a nice break to get away from my desk and grab something WONDERFUL!!! Can you tell I love them??

B. Syntrax Nectar Roadside Lemonade x 3 scoops w water & ice
L. Starbucks grande lite caramel frappacino w 2 scoops protein
S. co-jack stick
D. Taco meat & shredded cheddar & salsa

124 protein / 43 carbs

Thx for your opinions!!!!!

I think if you're sure they're made as SF as possible you should be fine. Enjoy!

Thx Gina -- I keep an eye out on them to make sure they are going with the s/f bottles. I am going to ask questions re the base today. That is my real concern.

According to Starbuck's website (http://www.starbucks.com/menu/drinks/frappuccino-blended-beverages/caramel-frappuccino-light-blended-coffee) the grande light carmel frappachino has 0g fat/30g carbs/3g protein....  When you say 2 scoops protein, are you having them add more?

Yes... Adding two additional scoops whey protein. ....

I have found that the majority of their bases for drinks are loaded with sugar, whi*****reases the carb content. I usually stick with a Skinny Latte, where I know the carbs are from the NF milk. In their nutritional information, the sugar content is listed and is quite high for some innocent sounding drinks, such as a Chai Latte. I don't think any of their bases are SF. Let me know, if I am wrong.

If most of your carbs are coming from the Frap, then you are probably okay, but I have found that I need a protein meal to keep me full during the afternoon. I don't use them as a meal replacement anymore.

YeP the base is the issue -- the barista told me they have a lower fat base for skinny drinks not totally sugar free or fat free. I wonder if I experiment w 1/2 the amount of base?????? Off to look for NI on the alternate base.

Meg - Since you asked for an opinion. I loooooove my Starbucks. While I was in a losing mode, I went with a tall or grande skinny Mocha or Vanilla latte only have about 12 carb grams. I went with an iced coffee with NF milk and splenda which has even fewer carbs. If you are maintaining and the carb monster doesn't know where to find you, then the lite frappacino and the 30 carb grams may work. Have a great afternoon!
