Okay, 36 hours until surgery. Above and beyond the typical thoughts and hypotheticals, My mind is racing so fast that I feel like my brain may spontaneously explode! My lists are made and categorically checked. Now all I can do is pack my small bag for the hospital stay and think. Think and think and think. Everything is so out of my control, and therefore I am very out of my element. I don't like the way this feels. Is it crazy that i asked the Doctor and anesthesiologist separately if they could do the procedure while I was awake. (They both seemed to think I was nuts, but conceded that it could be done, then promptly refused.) ;-}So, tomorrow I will finish my laundry, pack my bags, and spend the rest of the day with my little boy. Hopefully my mind will stay clear and focused. Soon I will looking back from the flip side and probably laughing about all of it.
