Starting the 5 day Pouch Test - Day 1

Jul 23, 2012

So I decided to do the 5 day pouch test this week in order to start the 'getting back on track' goal I have set for myself. With the onset of 3o pounds in the last year and a half I have decided I can't 'let it slide' anymore (as I did that for the first 10, then 15, then 20 and so on and I don't want to have to try losing 60 pounds at a later time). I have several reasons for wanting to do this now in that in December we are going to St. Thomas for a little vacation so I would like to look really nice in this new swimsuit my hubby bought for me (that when I tried it on didn't look so cute) but I also have the realization that I will be 41 this year and if I thought losing weight and getting motivated to exercise was hard before its getting harder and harder. Additionally, I have noticed progressively how my happy-go-lucky personality has started to become that of the recluse I was when I weighed my highest which was before surgery at 260. I don't like feeling so utterly uncomfortable with myself that I dont wish to leave the house.
So Day 1. I had probly 64 ounces of water & green tea in the first 2 hours this morning. I am now sipping on some Amino Energy (to keep any headaches from caffeine withdrawal at bay and to give me a little more get up and go to get through the day). I have to admit I havent been at all hungry today so I havent had anything other than these things. I think towards dinner though it might be a little more difficult to deal with as my family sits down for dinner without me. But we will see. Its ONLY 5 days. Thats nothing compared to anything else I have undertaken. So I feel pretty successful today and motivated to get through the week.

More tomorrow :-)
