Well, I went to my "second" "first" appointment today - since I changed PCPs, after all. I waited like an hour, but today was swell!I was obsessing over how much I'd have to explain and plead with my doctor to help me with this surgery. I was making little stories in my head and running scenarios over and over and planning exactly what'd I'd say and do that I was taken aback by how simple it really was!
She came in and I told her I wanted to start requirements for WLS, and she said okay and that she'd refer me to the specialist (the endo who I wanted anyway!). That was it. I kept asking other questions of if I needed to do anything and whatnot and she said nope. She even told me to go right over to endocrinology to make an appointment for blood work (which is in 3 weeks). The nurse led me over to the scheduler who she signed me right up and gave me 2 little stapled packets of WLS info and surgery types.
I'm well aware I probably won't get the actual surgery until the end of the year with the multiple dietitian, psych, and endo visits, but who cares! Time's gonna pass anyway and I want them to do everything they need to do before I go under!
I was worried for nothing. Forget a monkey, that's a gorilla off my back! Woo hoo! Here we go!
