Seven months ago today they wheeled me into the OR and I was like, Holy Crap this is really happening!

Something clicked after I had my surgery and through this website and the freaking awesome people post on OH, I've had great support. Reading and re-reading post after post gaining the right prospective through this process. I've realized that loosing the weight is the easy part and I will forever have to be mindful of what I'm eating. I'm not cured of anything, I'll always be a fat chick at heart.

Everyday I make smoothies with my Nutri-Bullet: Lots of leafy greens, berries and a little love. I drink the Premier Protein shakes and I'm so much more active. Swimming, biking, dancing my way to my goal weight. Yes, I got to my goal and managed to go two pounds below. (totally surreal, shocking and I still haven't wrapped my head around it!)

My husband has been my rock through all of this. I've learned that eating was a coping mechanism and have had to re-learn how to behave when things get rough. My two little girls have benefited from this experience as well. They now have a mommy that is not just existing but living life to the fullest and is up for anything!

This has been a very humbling journey to my seven- month mark. I'm so thankful to my surgeon, Dr. Awad, and for the real people I've met on OH. Cheers to the next chapter!!!
