Two and a half years later

Aug 20, 2010

So here I am two and a half years later, starting all over again.  I had to have my band deflated in April, and found out that it had slipped.  The middle of June my surgeon decided that it was best if we removed it because of how sick I was constantly.  So we scheduled a lap band removal with gastric bypass for July 12, 2010. I was told on July 9th the insurance company was not ok with the bypass without clearance.   I then spent the rest of July being sick and getting appointments scheduled in order to get the clearance.  I was cleared and had band removal and bypass done on August 18th.

Day one was horrible I ached and felt like crap, but on day two I felt better and on day three I was at home and feeling pretty darn good.

So here I am starting over lessons learned and ready to face the greatest challenge of my life.

I started this journey three years ago in 2007, my highest weight was 382 during November of 2007 and my current weigh post surgery is 319.5 full of IV fluid and liquids.  My goal is to initially hit the 80% they say is possible only to stabilize at the 65% overall.  I am dedicating this year to losing the weight and exercising to keep it looking healthy, and year two will be to finding maintenance viable options.

No promises but I am aiming for monthly updates
