Pre-op diet and diabetes meds

I went to my PCP today to discuss my diabetes meds since I am on Optifast for 6 weeks before surgery.  She took me off 2 of my 3 meds for diabetes because she does not want my blood sugar to go too low. I am going to test every morning and 2 hours after I "eat" 3 X per week.  In two weeks I will return with my log and we will discuss if she wants to reduce it more. 
My BP today was 112/80.  I am usually around 120/80-132/84 so it is good as well.  Her scale weighed me 14 pounds lighter than the surgeons scale.  But the sugeon's scale is about 4 lbs. heavy and hers is about 4 pounds light.  So I lost some but not sure how much until I go back to the surgeon's office on May 9th for a true comparison.  The battery in my scale is dead and I think I am going to leave it that way for a while.
