So after 20 months of fighting Acordia/PEIA, I had my surgery in January 2007. As of today, 6/12/09, Im down to 199. My BMI is 30 and my health issues have disappeared with one exception; My spine.
I guess I was born with some issues in my spine. I currently have 4 pinched nerves in my neck and a bone slipping in my lower back. Apparently weight loss helps so thankfully I have lose 118 lbs to my advantage. But I need to get rid of excess skin and fat but Im facing my insurance company again.
They are requiring me to jump through hoops again to have these surgeries done for my health benefits.
Im going to fight them, of course, but it is irritating as well as painful. The longer it takes for me to repair my outside, the longer it will take to heal my insides! If I go too long, I wont have to wory about plastic surgery, I will be either paralyzed in a wheelchair or facing back surgery.
So, PEIA, if youre listening.. I need you to stop being in it for the money and begin caring about your clients and their health. I will follow up when I know more.
