It is now Jan 16,2003 and I have now lost down to 220. I will still need surgery on the old wound on my abdoman to repair the resulting hernea left over from my 2nd surgery. I am finally off all machines and the bed sore is almost well. I will say again, I would go through the whole process again if needed to loose the weight. I am going down much slower now but I hope to continue going down at least another 50 pounds. If I had to do it all over again the only thing I would change is I would have gotten a 2nd opion before having the 2nd surgery to repair the hernea. I still think Dr. Patterson is the absolute best and would send my best friend to her if needed.

Hi Dixie! You have really been through some trials since your surgery. I am very happy to hear that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and it's exciting to hear that you're still losing despite all the intervening surgeries. Please keep on posting, feeling better, and getting healthier! Good luck to you. {{{HUGS!}}}

9/25/02...I am just now getting back into letting people know how I am doing after I came home from my second surgery. I ended up having 3 more surgeries and spent the next 5 months in the hospital. I spent the first 3 months in ICU. I finally got to go home again on Oct. 5, 2001. I was hooked up to a wound vac for a large abdominal wound and another one for a bed sore I got while in ICU. In Feb. of 2002 I had a large skin graft done on my abdomin. Then a few months later I had a surgery to open up part of the bed sore to encourage it to heal. I had a 2nd operation on the bed sore in July of this year. I still have a small spot on the bed sore that we thought for a while would need a surgery also. But, it looks like it is going to go ahead and heal by itself. THANK GOD. This has been a very scary year. But, I do want everyone to know that it was not the first surgery that caused the problems. All my problems came from the surgery done by the 2nd Doctor that did the hernea surgery. Anyway, I am off all machines now and am slowly loosing weight. I now weight 240. And that feels great!
