Hello to all. I thought I would update since I have not posted in a long time. I had my LAP RnY on October 16th. I started at 257 pounds and am now down to 175. I am off all diabetes meds and am feeling great. I did have to go through 6 endoscopies due to scar tissue closing up my stoma. Looks like that is all corrected now. I am in a size 16, a size I have not seen since I was in junior high school. Not bad .....I am down from a size 24. We are off to Florida later this month. It will be so nice to not feel ashamed to be in a bathing suit. However, the mind messes with me. I still see a 257 pound woman when I look in the mirror. Will my self image ever change? Please, I would greatly appreicate any feedback. May God bless you all!

Hi Sheila, Congrats on your weight loss! I KNOW how sick you must have been with just clear liquids! I'm 7 weeks post-op and just about live on yogurt and fat free pudding! I, too, am unable to get near the amount of protein in we're supposed to! Anyway, congrats and I'm glad you're doing well.

Hello everyone! Happy New Year to all! I stepped on the scale on New Years eve and weighed in at 200 pounds! I am down 57 pounds. I can't wait to get below 200. I am so excited! Everything seems to be going well since my last endoscopy. I still do not tolerate meat very well. I am trying to better getting in my protein. It's a toughie tho! Take care and God Bless!

Hello to all! Well, where do I begin? Well I had my fifth and hopefully last endoscopy on December 21st. Dr. Muscarella got my stoma opened to 18. My weight loss seems to have slowed down, I am at a plateau. But hey! I am down to 204 from 257! Weee doggies! I am wearing a size 18 for the most part and have been hitting the Goodwill stores like a mad woman. It is so exciting to be able to pick up a dress and know it will fit! Gotta love their prices too! We had a wonderful Christmas. My hubby bought me a beautiful curio cabinet for my salt and pepper collection. He's a peach! Did someone say peach? YUMMMM! Be sure and stop by Mary Hughes' surgery page and wish her well. She will be joining us on January 4th. Way to go girl!

Good evening all. A special thank you to Mary Hughes who responded to my last post. I had my second endoscope today. They were able to open the stoma to 10mm only. I have to go back next Tuesday for yet another one to see if they can get it opened up anymore. My LAP was on October 16th ad I am down from 257 to 220.I am very excited about the weight loss, but sure am ready to move on beyond clear liquids. I give all the Glory to our Father in Heaven. He has been with me all the way and will always be by my side ( Him and mary Hughes! ) I thank you all for such a wonderful site and the chance I had at making a new lifelong friend. All my well wishes to everyone pre-op and post-op. Sheila
