Hi Shelia, I loved your list and copied it to my email address. I want to be able to say all of those things too. My surgery is this coming Monday. (12/01/2003) I am excited and scared all at the same time. Just want to also say that you look great!!!! I will catch up to you before long. Keep me in your prayers.

hi guys! well, I MADE! it! I had surgery on July 20th and was home on the 23rd! then the packers came to move us on the 25th! so it has been a busy week, hardly time to notice that I had surgery last week! LOL! but i am doing really well! as my angel, DOT(and she IS from heaven!) told you, I had the surgery done Laparscopically, even tho' I was scheduled for open,(the doc asked if I would be a guinea for him!) and I was his second successful case! hooray! so me and my little holes are doing fine, I wanted to start walking today, but I couldn't find my way to the front door because of all of the boxes, but now that I have cleared a path..I am gonna start walking a little! I did have pain but only used the pump maybe 6 times, I was really surprised by the lack of pain! and I still am! I am on soft foods and doing good so far! keep me in your thoughts and prayers! I have a doc appt monday , I will update my profile next week, just wanted all of you who read the message board to know that I made it! take care and God bless! {{{HUGS}}}

7/25/00: Just wanted to update everyone and let you know that Shelia came home from the hospital on Sunday. She got back into Jacksonville around noon and was feeling a little sick from the bumpy ride and a little tired but otherwise fine. I talked to her for a little while on Sunday and she was taking in plenty of fluids (broth, water, etc) and seemed to be doing well. I checked on her last night but she was asleep by the time I got around to calling her (after work, exercising, etc) but Lam (her husband) said she was doing well and feeling a little tired and sore but otherwise doing very well. I haven't checked in with her today because they were moving (yes, the life of the military, they have their own schedule) and I knew she would be very tired and not really up to talking. I plan to check on her tomorrow and will post another update at that time. Thank you all again for your throughts, good wishes and especially your prayers. Both Shelia and I appreciate it so much. Thanks, and I will keep you posted until she is well enough to update herself. Dot

7-21-00 Hi, this is Dot, Shelia's angel (although she is more like my angel) and I wanted to update everyone on Shelia's surgery. Shelia had her surgery performed yesterday in Wilmington. Shelia was able to haver her surgery performed laparoscopic. She was scheduled to have her surgery at 1pm but they didn't take her up to the operating room until 3:30. Of course when I didn't hear from her husband Lambert by 9:15 I was very worried and called the hospital (only to be told she was still in surgery). Lam called me at 10:50 and told me Shelia was out of surgery, had been taken up late and was recovering fine. I called Shelia today and she sounded a little tired and her voice was a little sore (result of tube down throat during surgery) but otherwise good. She was in high spirits and didn't seem to be in a lot of pain. She told me she had gotten up and walked (as early as 1:30 AM this morning). She was waiting for her nutritional counseling so she could move on to liquid's (was sucking on ice chips). All in all Shelia is recovering just fine, came through the surgery with flying colors and is on her way to a new and healthy life. She wasn't sure when she would be coming home and I plan to try to visit her tomorrow or at least call. We appreciate all the throughts and well wishes and especially the prayers. Thank you all. Dot
