Congrats on the new journey, I wish you well on the losing side! You will be fine as long as you listen to your docs and take care of yourself. The people on this website are awesome and they can help you on your way. I have surgery on July 8th, so I will soon be right there with you! Take care and keep us posted! :-)

Well, it’s official! You’re on the losing side. The trumpets are blaring, the cymbals are crashing and the drums are drumming – all for YOU! I hope that all went well for you! You’ve been out of surgery now for a little over a month – YIPPIE!!! Your journey will have moments to “pause” – I’d like to impart some words of wisdom for when it does occur - remember these wise words whispered by Confucius – “It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.” Be patient. You didn’t put it on over night, it won’t come off over night (DARN IT!)… RNY 10/31/03 – down 85 pounds!!! Good luck!

I had my second post-op today and have now lost 18 pounds in the four weeks since surgery. Having trouble getting in the protein. Quite truthfully, nothing tastes good or is appealing. Sharon Staples

Hi everybody! I'm feeling better each day!! First days after surgery are all but forgotten. I go back to Dr. Martin this Friday. Hope I can have something added to my diet! I'm getting all the protein and extra liquids, plus have finally kind of a schedule going for all my regular medications, plus all the vitamins. Be glad when I get rid of some of those regular medications. Take care. Sharon

Thank you all for your support, prayers and caring!!! When I saw that so many of you had posted to my site, I was overwhelmed and deeply touched. Last week was a long week, but since about Friday the time has just been flying by. I was a little nervous, but now I am just so BUSY and can't seem to get everything accomplished. I've cleaned closets (actually threw away some old old NASCAR Program Books that belonged to my deceased husband). I think seeing the Daytona Race must have stirred some memories of when we went to the races. Anyway, getting rid of the Programs was a mistake!! I've had a couple of people say that I should have kept them, because the were collector items. I'm trying to get my tax information together so I can get it taken care of on Monday (didn't realize it is Monday already). Oh, well, I haven't been sleeping well for a couple of weeks so it's no wonder I can't think straight. I have relatives in nursing homes and I've visited them (at different nursing homes). I've had several "last suppers" and am supposed to have another one Monday night. (I have been good about getting in the fish (no red meat), vegetables and fruit juice. I'll update when I can. Hi Sharon! Congrats on your surgery date! I bet you are so excited! Just hang in there!
