Look out OH! Towanda is becoming her spunky self and healing well. She is back on the board - as you might have noticed - and I think we'll be seeing her a lot more often. Three cheers - minimum - for the Mighty Towanda! jo

Hi Everyone! It's me...the Mighty Towanda, as my A+ Angel MoonOtter* termed me! Let me take this time to THANK MoonOtter* for all her posts and her support while I was in the hospital and after. I could not have asked for better treatment. I am on lucky gal. Thanks to everyone for the well wishes. I printed my support page out when I cam home and my Mom and I read them while I rested in bed. Some...I could not get through without tears.... Your concern and care touched the very core of my heart. I will try to update my profile in the next day or two. Still working on getting the pesky infection to go away and the edema. On top of it all with my superb surgeon. Thanks again!

Today was Towanda's first post-op office visit and she is doing just fine. Her symptoms are being handled well and she's just being patient while she waits for that post-op swelling to go down! She's working hard to get that protein intake up and has moved to full liquids. We are all very proud of her committment to stick to her timeline and not rush things - we know she'll heal better for it. Cheers for the Mighty Towanda!

Hi Towanda! I’m so sorry to hear that you've had a hard time with your recovery. I know that you might feel down, but in time those feelings will be replaced with joy as you start your new life. Try to keep you thoughts positive. This poem is for you today: When life gets hard and seems too difficult to bear I wish you the love of family and friends who will show you that they care. When sadness darkens your day and clouds your eyes, I wish you the wisdom of family and friends to show that crosses can be blessings in disguise. While you work things out and wait for better times to start. I wish you the smiles of family and friends to lift your spirits and warm your heart. When you need someone to listen and help to see you through, my wish is that you think of me and know I’ll be there for you!! This slow healing process is just a bump in the road and I know you’ll see this through. Good luck and keep your spirits high! Keeping you in my prayers! God bless you today and always! P.S. You have a wonderful angel!! DI from NJ – Lap RNY, 12/09/03 -52 lbs

Towanda is continuing to heal, but is going through a really uncomfortable stage. Lots of bruising - outside and inside, of course, and with that she's very sore. She's getting around very well and getting in 30-45gm of protein a day already! And keeping that water intake up. That on top of her liquid antibiotic, supplements, pain med, etc. She is doing a great job and her wonderful family is there to support and encourage her. Her daughter is a great resource, since she's a WLS post-op herself. PLEASE keep our Sister-in-struggle with obesity in your prayers and in your hearts with your positive thoughts. Towanda's
