Well, It's about time I'm able to up date my surgery page :) I was JUST released from the hospital Mon. AGAIN:( On Halloween morning my surgery went off without a hitch.woke up in my private room. Not the most comfortable surgery I've ever had but bearable. Had a few problems in the hospital with trying to find a vein to draw blood & set up IV's but I got through all that. was sent home Sat. morning. By Sun. & Mon. night I was in the worst pain of my life. Come Tue. morning at my post-op appointment. My Dr. put me back into the hospital because I had developed phunemonia (excuse the spelling) I'm sure I was one of the worst patients on the 6th floor for about 3 days & nights. I was a very sick puppy!! I got to feeling better in about 3days. wanted to go home but I was having alot of drainage from my surgery site & the Dr. wanted to get a culture. So I didn't get released till Mon. morning the 11th. Now I'm doing alot better but I'm still draining alot from the surgery area. my daughter changes bandages twice a day. Today I started the full liquids stage. The biggest problem I'm having is SEVER LEG CRAMPS I can't believe how bad they hurt. I need more Potassium in my system I think. It will clear up I'm sure. Well this is all for now hope all my Halloween surgery buddies are having a speedy recovery. well it's back to WALK WALK WALK DRINK DRINK DRINK !!! :) :) :)

Hello everyone:) I'm happy happy happy:) everything is a GO for HALLOWEEN surgery day. I did all my pre-op stuff at the hospital today. I need to share a little (yet, embarrassing) story of what happened today at the lab. I feel SOOOOOOO STUPID they asked for a urine sample quite normal, & I have had about 15 other surgeries so I know the routeen. I go into the bathroom, I sit the cup down, I tear open the litle cleaning towelet, I start to reach to wipe myself, & "DUH" I had just let myself go pee the whole time & I was through "SH*T" Now I can't pee anymore!!LMAO So I had to sit in the office waiting room drinking water water water for 1/2 hr. & finally I could go again. I guess you could say I must be nervous about the big day. Well, here's hoping for the best outcome & a great life ahead. Bless you all! more laters :)

Hello All, I had my pre-op appointment with Dr. Llorente & Juna & Jessica PHEW!!!!!! they were very througho about everything. Alot to get my mind around lol but I'm sure I'll get the hang of the whole routeen in time. I go to the hospital to do the last tests & see the man who will be putting me in LA-LA-LAND lol I hope I don't wake up before it's over ha ha ha.Can't believe I'm only 1 week away from starting a whole new way of life!! If I can live through the surgery & the first few months I'm sure I'll make it all the way to the other side yeahhhhhhhhh !!!! enough for now I'll post more later.

Hi Debbie, Hi, fellow 52 yr old! Well, I turn 52 in a month anyway. Hey, CONGRATS on not having long to wait for your surgery! It's right around the corner and you will start your new life! You can do this! It's a little scarey but life the way we are now is scarey too, with the co-morbidities. I am sending a special prayer for God to guide your surgeons hand and hold your hand as well. And remember, you are not alone, we are here for you! BIG HUG! Carol Percel
