Massachusetts General Hospital

"The wait for the Weight Center can be long unless you have serious co-morbidities but it is well worth it!"

Janey Pratt

"She's very professional, actually came to meet me during a another procedure (non-weight). Friendly, informative, and enthusiastic. My impression has remaind the same. Dr. Pratt works out of the MGH Weight Center the staff there is very comprehensive and supportive, the only downside is that they are extremely busy and often overwhelemed so many phone calls are required to get appointments and answers. The MGH plan is comprehensive they do your full evaluation (interist, nutritionsit and psychologist) and there are plenty of follow up visits and the pre-op with the surgeon. After the surgery there is a mandatory 6 months of classes as well as support groups. The only down side is that insurance will not pay for the follow up classes. However I did find out that if cosmetic surgery for excess and obtrusive skin is needed, insurance will cover that, they make sure of it at MGH. Overall I'm very confident in the program and excited to get going!"
