Home after surgery!

I had my surgery on December 13th, 2012 in Fargo, North Dakota.  I didn't think that I was going to be able to sleep all day after surgery but that is what happened.  When I woke up and felt like I could get up, I went for my first walk.  This walk was sometime after midnight but it was worth it.  I burped! I was so excited to get a burp out on my first walk. 

The next day was a good one, I just had to manage my pain a little and I was on my way home!  I didn't have to do any sort of leak test that some people talk about.  I guess the doctor said he did that in surgery. 

When I got to the hospital I weighed 259.2.  My highest weight on record was 305.6 and I cannot wait to see what this surgery is going to do for me.  I have worked so hard to lose those 46 pounds on my own, I will be working just as hard with this new tool.  One thing that has changed already is that my blood sugar is perfect and I don't need metformin anymore!! Thank you God!
