Slow weight loss.

Sep 08, 2012

Well the last few months my weight loss has slowed to a crawl.  I've lost 10 pounds in the last 3 months, but I only need to lose 12 more pounds to reach my personal goal and to also be considered in a normal BMI range.  I think my mind hasn't caught up with my body and when I look in the mirror I think that I must need to lose more weight than the 12 pounds mentioned. I have quite a bit of skin on my belly and legs, which I'm not sure there is much I can do about it without surgery.  I'm so happy with the desicion and my health is great, but somedays I feel off and don't see what everyone else sees.  I hope my brain catches up!.  Heres to some hard work ahead to drop those last 12 pounds!

Onderland!!!

May 10, 2012

I made it, finally!  I weighed in this morning at 199.6.  I have been at a stall for a few week and that has broken.  My goal was to get into onderland before I graduated college and guess what....I graduate tomorrow!  This has been an amazing journey thus far and with all my other accomplishments I feel so blessed.  I know this surgery isn't for everyone, but I would do it again in a heartbeat.  On another note I only need to lose 21 pounds to be of healthy weight and my personal goal weight.  That is crazy! I have lost 105 pounds since September so that is nothing to lose those last 21 pounds.

Overweight!!!

Mar 20, 2012

Today I am no longer obese!  I finally hit 29.9 BMI, which classifies me as overweight.  That is amazing.  I currently weight in at 214 and that is so close to the hundreds!  This was the best decision.

3 Months

Mar 02, 2012

My time has gone by so quickly.  Things have been going pretty good although I did have a brief stall, things are starting to roll again.  I am Currently 223.8 down 36.2 since surgery and my BMI is 31.2.   I only have 10 pounds to lose and I will no longer be obese!!!!  That is exciting, obese is such a crappy term for someone who is heavy.  I have been exercising regularly and my body is definitely changing.  I am now wearing a size 16 pant.  The one complaint I have today is that I am having some issue with food lately, which could be contributed to getting "stuck:, eating to fast, or eating something that doesn't agree.  When this happens it really sucks though!! It feels like a buildup in your chest and I feel like I want to puke, yet I cannot.  This lasts for an hour or more.  This doesn't make me regret anything, but I need to figure out how to get it in check!  I will report again in a month.

Amazing!!!

Feb 02, 2012

This journey has been incredible.  I am 2 months out of surgery and weighing in at 233, BMI 32.6!   I am able to fit in smaller clothes, work out more without being in pain and just feel so much more full of life and energy.  I am so happy that I made this decision!  I have now started water zumba with my sister and it is so much fun.  We are going twice a week.  I also am doing exercise 1 a week with my school seminar class.  I supplement in between.  My husband and I are picking up snowshoeing which is a crazy workout!  I look forward to the spring when i can take morning walks outside, I much prefer that than a treadmill.  My how life has changed!  If you are considering surgery...DO IT!

6 weeks

Jan 14, 2012

It has been about six weeks since surgery (-1 day).  Things have been going pretty good.  I lost about 3.5 pounds a week for the last two.  I am hoping to reach 30 pounds down by the two month mark.  I have 6.6 more pounds to go.  I really need to get my butt in gear and work out more.  I have been walking pretty much daily on the treadmill, but not for long periods.  I did for a a week do the bike in the morning and the treadmill in the evening, which was good.  I felt alive during the day exercising when I got up in the morning.  I need to get over my fears of the gym and get in there in the mornings.  We will see how that goes.  I have my follow up on the 24th, shoudl have been this Tuesday, but I had to reschedule.  Classes start this Tuesday...AH!  Only 4 more months.  Well I hope to have more weight loss in my next post.  Till then.....

1 Month!!

Jan 01, 2012

Well, I am 1 month out and 20 pounds down!! The weight loss kicked in this week and I am so happy.  I have been trying to follow all the things I must and I am also starting up a food diary on my ipod.  Only 2 more weeks until class starts, which I am not looking forward to, yet I do want to get it over with.  I am just ready to be done school and earn some cash.  Anyways I am 250 pounds today with  BMI of 35.  I can't wait to be in the 240's and under.  I have 3 weeks for my follow up and she wanted me at the weight I am today, so I am happy that by the time my appointment comes I will be where I should be and less in my weight loss journey.

Slow Weight Loss

Dec 28, 2011

So, I though after surgery that the pounds would just melt away and as I read other people's post losing big amounts of weight in 2 and 3 weeks, I have let it get to me.  Well not any longer.  I know everyone is different and I am doing as I need to, so that should be good enough and I should be happy with what I have lost thus far.  I am now down 14 pounds since surgery 3 1/2 weeks ago and pretty much puts me on target to were I need to be.  For my six week follow-up they want me to be 250 and that is only 6 pounds away, which seems doable.  I just need to focus on getting in more exercise, water and protein.  I went back to my internship today, I was a little nervous to how people would be to me, but everything seemed as it did a month ago.  I look forward to getting the next school semester over with and graduate.  I hope to be in the 100's again by then, that would be awesome.  There is a support group coming up next week and I hope I can get to it, that should be my new year's resolution.  Time for big changes in 2012.  Oh, Christmas this year with my 2 1/2 year old son was awesome.

Week Out!

Dec 12, 2011

Wow, it has been a week since my surgery.  My body is healing well and I am still sore, but feeling much better.  It is true, as the days go on the body works itself out.  I have an appointment with my DR one week from tomorrow. They will decide if I can progress to soft foods, which I hope I can.  I have a hard time getting my protein in from liquid shakes.  I hope that having food gets better.  I am not crazy hungry as I thought I would be, I mean it has been three weeks since I have had food!  I do still cook for my family, which I enjoy very much and it gives me something to do.  I gained 12 pounds after surgery from liquid and now have lost all that again plus 2 pounds.  My BMI is now 37, which is great because I think it was 43-44 when I started.  Well that is it for now.
