Final Countdown

Yesterday (Jan 8) I had my final appointment with my surgeon prior to RNY. Being an employee here at the hospital (Shands UF) I was able to complete my pre-op testing as well. Meeting with the dietitian was great- it happened to be the same one our department uses for our patients prior to heart transplant-- so that was added bonus.
My surgeon only requires a one week liquid diet which I will begin Jan 19th. It was truly a day of emotions-- looking forward to a new way of living, nervous, excited, somewhat sad and even a touch of hesitation. Having completed my pre- op testing I really feel this is it-- on the way-- the countdown has started!
