When did it all begin?...Yes, I remember now. I gained 30 lbs 15 years ago when I had my daughter. Tragically 8 weeks before I gave birth, my brother died unexpectedly. Coping with loss has been a hard thing for me and I think this event kind of kicked off a way to "insulate" myself from people and therefore hurt. 2 1/2 years after that I had my son, so add another 35 lbs to that. It's a creeper alright! Then the divorce...add a few more...then my Fathers death 6 years ago. Food is and has always been a pleasure for me. Not only do I love to eat but I love to cook and entertain. I Married the most wonderful man who happens to be my best friend 7 years ago. Just so happens that he is a Big guy. A year ago I decided to begin the Bariatric Classes through our insurance. To my surprise my husband said he was doing it with me. We have jumped through every hoop they have thrown at us and our surgeries are quickly approaching. His surgery is in two days..July 1st and my surgery is July 15th. I have a feeling we are going to be an unstoppable team! We are both just a bit anxious & nervous.
I know we are doing the right thing for our health. I just want to be on the other side of this already.
