Waiting...to hear about my appeal

I have been e-mailing Danette, Dr. Buchwald's Secretary & scheduler for the last few weeks. On June 1, I had my last dietary visit with Marg at Sanford Luverne. That afternoon, Danette sent the pre-auth to my insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Plus of Minnesota pre-paid medicaid.)Exactly two weeks later on June 15th, Danette called the insurance company. They denied my pre-auth because my BMI is 48 and not 50.
July 17th Danette put in an appeal. She said it will take the full 30 days to hear back. She is holding a surgery day of August 2nd if the appeal goes through.
It will be so hard to plan a surgery I don't even know I will be having until around 2 weeks before the BIG day. I'm thinking of things I will need to have done and planned out incase it is approved. All while trying not to get my hopes up. How do I do that?
If the appeal gets denied, I don't know what I will do.
