1.5 months out VSG
Sep 17, 2014
So I am almost 1.5 months out of my VSG . I am feeling pretty good, some days better than others, I am still learning what my sleeve will tolerate at this point. For anyone considering surgery this is what my sleeve life looks at this point in my journey. Protein drinks working well, they have become my breakfast daily. It takes a while to finish but the protein and vitamins give me boost in the morning, lunch at noon, usually a bit of tuna with a cracker, or a pieces of fruit with cottage cheese, I try to get some protein in. Mid afternoon I snack usually more fruit, chicken salda or something I have left over form another meal and then at dinner, whatever I have prepared at home minus the carbs and bread. Salad does not work well for me and certain veggies either, I have read this gets better so I am going to try it later on. I try to drink water all day and usually hit my goal for the day but when I fall short at night I try to make up for it before going to bed. I know that I need to refill my water bottle 4 times day so I try to space it out during the day.
Vitamins with a meal or else I get nausea, my acid pill in the morning first thing and my regular meds at mid morning. I made this routine for myself and it seems to be working well.
Now of the best part I have lost 34.5 lbs and am pretty happy about it. YAY! People have started to notice and it make me feel good, I notice of course but it validates what I see on the mirror daily. I am NOT weighing myself daily anymore. The scale does not change daily anymore so 2-3 times a week is enough. I still stress a bit on days when it does not move so I try to stay away from it.
Another stress trigger is when I plan on a meal and my sleeve does not like it. At that point I would like to grab just anything especially since things did not go as I planned but have not done it yet. I have a high thing with planning and things going according to plan. With a house full of kids you need to, but my sleeve likes to disagree with me at times LOL.
I am very happy with my decision and have started to make plans for when I get to goal. I was told by my drs office to imagine myself at goal, to plan of things I will do when I get to goal and I think it is an excellent idea. Plans so far include really cute clothes and somewhere to wear them to, I have not decided where yet, but I am window shopping online. It helps me keep focused on my goal.
