My name is Lisa, I had the Lap Band surgery 3 years ago in May of 05. It has not worked for me and so I am going back in for Surgery to have the Lap Band removed and have the Vertical Gastrectomy. I am very anxious to talk to anyone who has gone through this revision already. As I am reading some of your stories I see that the VG has worked well for most. Although on this sight before I was just as encouraged about the Lap Band. Is there anyone else out there who has gone through this??? I am so nervous. My surgery is May 7th with Dr. Josart. My initial surgeon was Dr. Feng, whom I trusted and liked very much. HOwever he has left the practice and I am a cash patient who paid for the 3 years of extended care, so I cannot afford to follow Dr. Feng. I am quite confident in Dr. Josart though as well. Am I doing the right thing??? We shall soon see. I will post pictures tommorrow. When I had the Lap Band surgery I weighed in at 233. I lost 33 pounds right away and stayed pretty much at 200 lbs. for the last 3 years. I recently quit smoking and have gained 13 lbs. back. God , I hope this works.....
