I think I've tried almost every diet out there. My bookshelves are covered with fad diet books, my credit card statements wrought with dieting services and my cabinet full of supplements and work out equipment. I've been a gym rat along side with a buffet queen and last year decided I didn't want to do it anymore. I've lost some, gained some but never really gotten things to where I wanted them to be. I'm a med student and knew the moment I graduated, if I stayed obese, I would be nothing more than a hypocrite and that disturbed me. How can an obese doctor suggest a patient lose weight to improve health? I looked at options, statistics, programs and finally chose RNY. I knew that everything I wanted in life would be just slightly less sweet if I was obese and had to change. It's been an incredible journey so far and with my destination finally coming into sight, I can honestly say, I have no regrets.
