My health has never been good. But I never let it slow me down. I use to compete with my horse, and fought to keep my wight down. Staying light for races was hard, but the smallest wight I competed at was 115. My wight has gone up and up. In 2007 my best friend died I became so depressed I reached 275 pounds, I stopped caring about my health. In 2008 my husband and talked about having kids, my Dr told me there was no way I could have children with my wight going up and my health going down. So my husband and I made choice to move forward with surgery. I got my VGS 11/19/2009. I had meany set backs I was ready to give up. I had a very hard time getting my weight down, and getting use to the "rabbit diet" my RD put me. Then  3/2009 I was bucked off a horse and was in the ER/ICU for 3 days. My husband told me he needed me here, he was in no way ready to take care of our 2 dogs by himself. I got rid of my Dr and RD at Richmond Kaiser. I searched for someone who understood me. I found a RD that could work with my hearty vegetarian diet and let me eat more real foods. My RD got me healthier and to lose weight. Soon I was ready for my VGS.
