Plateau

Aug 31, 2017

Hello everyone!

I started my weight loss journey January of 2017. I was required to take nutrition classes for 6 months before being able to have the surgery. I had the Roux-en-Y surgery on JUly 26, 2017 - and it has been an amazing adventure. I was worried becuase I am a nurse at the hospital where the surgery was performed - good friends with some of the surgery team. I had nothing to worry aabout - I was exceptionally taken care of - my room was the most popular on the whole floor. Only one night in the hospital and I way underestimated how long it would take me to recover. I was thinking a day or two - I took 4 weeks off of work and needed every day of it. I am now 1 month post op. I have the most supportive friends and family - it has really been incredible how much support and love I have felt since the surgery. I have dropped just about 25 pounds in the first month. The last two weeks I have reached a plateau and I am quite wrroied. I am eating about one third of what I used to eat, but can't seem to drop anymore weight. Have any of you ever reached a plateau so soon into the surgery. I am trying to eat small low fat meals, I am at the gym every day I am not working. I am just feeling frustated with myself. Now that I am back at work, people have complemented my left and right - and not to brag but it feels really nice, but for my personal self - I am frustrated.

Can anyone help me? Or some words of encouragement?

ANd also - congratulations to everyone on this site - even if you haven't had the surgery yet, you are looking to make an amazing decision for you and your loved ones. For the first time in about a decade I was able to hike with my family. It was long and slow, but I did it, I made it to the top. So far, that has been my biggest accomplishment!
