Well life continues on.  Somedays are better then others but for the most part I am well.  Weightloss has been minimal, my surgeon keeps looking at my records to remember if I was an RYNer or a Bander because my weight loss is more closely resembling a Lap Band then it is RYN.

I fly to California this Saturday.  I will be staying with my grandmother for a while to help her recover from the things she's going through.  Along with that I will be helping my friend recover from the path she strayed on to that she needs to get off of.

I work out a lot more then I did pre-op.  I have a personal trainer that I work with.  I will  miss her when I return to California for a while LOL.  I am getting in a lot of work outs this week and the last two weeks too.  It was a perfect pairing.  She works me out every session on top of the "torture" I put myself through before our sessions even start.

I do not think that Califonia will have a negative impact on my progress though.  My grandmother and I are both light eatters and when her body allows we are both active women.  I will be doing a lot while I am there so I do not forsee any set backs.  I am taking my vitamin stock with me too LOL :P

Well the updates on the weight loss itself:
Consultation Wgt: 271
Preoperative Wgt: 255
Surgery Wgt Loss: 58
Total Wgt Loss: 74

Total Inches lost: 82.5

So all is well in my world.  Okay- not really!  BUT it isn't horribly bad!  I had my gallbladder removed, no biggy really.  Just a small problem with one incision, it's better now.

Back to working out at the gym (enjoying it a lot)!

School is dull but I'm getting through it!

As of this morning I am at 199 lbs.  It took a while to get here, I am a very slow loser!  It's alright though I have lost over 42" and am in my Wrangler jeans I havent worn since I was 19-20 LOL!

My problem area has been my MUFFIN top :D  It's just the way my body is shaped and puts on weight but it does get annoying !

On 2/16/07 I will be having my gallbladder removed.  Other then that life is not all that exciting.

I am down to 204 lbs, hoping to be under 200 by the end of the month.  Apparently, because I started out at what is considered a light weight the small amount I have lost is acceptbable to my surgeon so I suppose I am doing alright.

I work with a great personal trainer on Mondays.  I have learned a lot from her.

Well :) It went great!

I knew she'd want my Resting Heart Rate so I took that just after I woke up this morning :) I wrote out everything I wanted to accomplish, my measurements, weight, height, goals, etc.

She was shocked that I was so informed and knew what I wanted to do!  She says that she has never seen anyone so prepared and knowledgable and enthusiastic about getting healthy in her entire career.  It made me feel really good.  She did not judge me in the least bit either!

We talked about my GBS and she said that we would still work off a normal persons expectations of weight loss progression and modify it as needed.  She would rather over plan my weight loss then under plan it and have me feel as though I failed to meet what normal people couldnt :).  I was okay with that.

After our initial talking, we went up to the cardio machines where I was introduce to two different types of cross-country trainer machines.  The one I liked (and was told that it's usually the least preferred of the two) had 20 levels to determin how high your legs went and up to 100 pounds of resistance :)  She said "we'll do this a couple of minute to test your cardio"  8 minutes later :P  I was at L6 for height and 35 lbs of resistance which impressed her :)  She said most people are usually done at about 2 minutes.  Then I did 3 minutes on the other cross-trainer, not so fun but still not bad.  Then we used the treadmills EKG / HR monitor to check my heart rate and return heart rate :) It was just 1 point higher then "normal" which is still good considering my weight!

Then we went down stairs and she had me do a set of 10 squats to see my form, then another 10 (arms up in the air).  Afterwards she had me to 20 more with a stance of choice, which I used my Tae Kwon Do stance (guards up!).  She laughed and said she should have guessed that would be how I'd do them after our earlier discussion.  After wards she had me on a balance board and I did 20 on there no problem at all - kept my balance pretty good.  Then we move to the balance ball things and she was talking about how it usually takes a minute or so for people to get their balance but then laughed and said "Except you, took only what 5 seconds!"  I did 20 more on there, then she had me move to an even more rounded board and I did that one 20 times too!  So I did a total of 100 squats today!  I am very proud of that!

I did 12 pushups :P  I did pretty good kept form and lots of butt squeezing LOL

After that we went to the arm lifting machine to see how much weight I need to be using... we had to wait a bit though so she had me do a balance thing.  "Lift either your left or right foot and balance as long as you can."  So I stood there with my bag over my left should, water bottle in my right hand with my right leg up off the ground and laughing as she made the comment, "Oh gosh!  That balance!  Drinking water, holding a bag, and holding balance! Holy cow!  Advanced here arent we?!"  So after this was done the guy using the machine finshed up and we started testing the level of weights I needed to get an impact.

Started out at 30 and then to 45.  45 lbs I kind of felt but not the area I should have so we added 5 more pounds and that gave me just enough weight to feel it where the target areas are so I'm starting out at 50lbs for arm lifts!  Then we went and talked about all of the stuff we did, made my next appointment and everything is good to go!

It was a good day :)  I felt really comfortable with my trainer.

Yesterday I had a hida scan done to see if my gall bladder is working correctly.  It took my gall bladder almost 2 hours to reveal itself, but it did.  I will not know the results until tomorrow or Monday though.  I am hoping all is well and I do not have to have it removed.

I am down to 210lbs.  10lbs from goal.  I havent been able to get up any earlier then I have been for a while. With school I just seem to find myself unable to get up early enough to use my treadmill.  Taekwodo finally is open again (couldnt go yesterday due to the doctors thing) I will be going Friday and Saturday.  Then next week the new quarter starts at school and I will be going to Taekwondo Monday, Friday, and Saturday, School: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

My goal is to be at or under 200lbs by the February 14th.  I will do it.  I must.  My goal for March is 190, April 180, May 170, June 160, July 150, August 140, September goal at or around 130 (1 year out).  It would be great if I get there faster though.

I have lost quite a bit slower then I was expected to though :(  I am at a total loss of 45 lbs since the surgery and am 133 days (just over 4 months) out.  I have failed yet again ~_~

So it's a new year, and the time for resolutions.  So here is my only resolution:  Be content with myself and progress.

I havent lost any weight in December.  I think the holiday's had a lot to do with it.  My normal routine was interuppted quite a lot, no school, days off of work, and no taekwondo.... with lots of food! O,o  January will be better.

Personal Goals (these are not resolutions ^.^)
Get into onederland before the end of January.

Try labeling containers for my meals and hope the DH doesnt eat them.

Get up earlier so I have time to use the treadmill in the morning before my shower.

Suprise my family when I see them in May/June (they have not seen me since last year).

Get out of a majority of debt.

Dec 13, 2006

Things have been going slow.  While I have lost 50lbs over the year (16 pre-op and 35 post-op), I still am not as losing as much as I should/could be.

Still having problems with snacking.  I do not dump on anything but deep-fried food.  I am barely able to get a vitamin in during the week.  I've never been a pill taker so swallowing them has been difficult (liquid and chewable make me ill).

My cholesterol has come down a bit, but I've been ordered back on to the medication.  I hate taking pills :|  It requires so much effort to get them down regardless of size.

Clothing wise, I cant ware my size 24's, 22's or 20's now.  I'm in an 18M comfortably.  I will post pictures eventually for those who would like to see.

Mood swings have not been to drastic since surgery.  I've made sure to think through any major decisions before making a choice so that I dont react during any mood swing i may have.

Tonight I test for my next belt in Taekwondo. :)  My goal is Green Belt Decided.

Eep!  It's time for college Mid-Terms!  The school quarter has been just flying by! Heck this year seems to have just zipped on by... did I blink somewhere?!

This Saturday I get to take Suebooboo (see my friends list) to Tae Kwon Do with me :)  I hope she will enjoy herself and maybe she will inspire others to give it a try too!

As far as being post-op, I am STILL having problems with vitamins.  Chewables give me the foamies, Liquid forms cause me to dump, and the pills get stuck more often then not which is almost as bad as dumping.  I will be going to Vitamin Shoppee sometime this week to see if they can help me find a multi-vitamin that's much smaller.  Worse case, I may have to buy one of those pill cutters and see if that helps with the "getting stuck" problem.

My "hard fat" is now squishy LOL.  I can feel my pelvic bones now though :P that's awkward!  I was doing leg lifts and omg! help!  my butt (tailbone) was crying the whole time.  I ended up having to put my hands behind my back to relieve the discomfort.

Propel now makes On-the-Go packets for water!  Yay!  They carry it at Publix :) ... Kiwi-Strawberry & Berry are my favorites.

Still on my mini stall.  I will be seeing my surgeon today for my 2 month check up.  He'll probably be disappointed in my weight loss again, but what can I do?

i am still no good at taking vitamins.  I still find myself choking on them or feeling ill after taking them.  Heck I even dump on certain brands of vitamins LOL.

School is going alright for now.  I was sick Thursday so I missed a class but I shouldnt need to miss another one.

October 30th

Oct 30, 2006

It was a bad week over all and as I'm sure most of the post-ops can attest to having those days where for no real reason everything seems to aggrivate or upset you in some way.

I do eat protien products, I should have worded my statement differently.  I generally eat the highest protien content item first, followed by a different but smaller portion of another protien (example: meat & cheese).

I still havent lost anything, but after really looking at what I do all day I still have a lot of "sitting on my butt time."  Or at least this weekend I did!  I literally played video games all day Saturday (there was no taekwondo class due to testing on Friday) and all day Sunday.  I could have done something else but didnt... there is no excuse.  I knew better and the thought did cross my mind on more then one occassion.  My husband and our friends were suppose to go to Hollow-Scream on Saturday but our so unreliable friends bailed out at the last moment... I suppose that just set the stage for a lazy weekend.

Today started off great!  Yup, took my vitamins (1 chewable Flinstone and 1 biotin); best part is that they stayed down and didnt give me a hard time.  I havent eatten yet today because of my dentist appointment this morning.  I had three teeth refilled in (they had lost their fillings when my wisdom teeth came in), and the numbing stuff makes me ill if I've eatten before it.  I will probably have a late lunch because I still cant feel half of my face (LOL)!

I have a speech to give tonight, I do hope that the numbing feeling goes away for the most part by that time!  It's for my night class.
