"First impression: He's highly intelligent and competent, a straight shooter who doesn't beat around the bush. This is a mixed blessing. He's not going to sugar coat what he thinks. He'll be supportive of your choices, but expect to have to explain & justify them, especially if your surgery isn't the one he would have chosen. If you're the sensitive type who has a thin skin, his manner of communicating may difficult for you. If you like your information straightforward and would rather know what he's thinking... that's exactly what you'll get.
His medical assistant was very sweet, nice, and friendly.
