My gastric bypass surgery is scheduled for Jan 4, 2013. It seems like I have waited forever for this date and now it's almost here. I go for my physical and pre-op appt on Dec 20 and I will start my liquid diet on my 37th birthday (Dec 21st). I feel like this surgery is my birthday, Christmas, and New Year's presents all in one. I am so excited and not nervous about the actual surgery...yet. I have two boys, 12 and 15, and I am more worried about how to get them to school for the couple of weeks I will be out of commision than I am anything else. Well....I am concerned about how I will handle nothing but fluids for a month. Wow, no chewing. How do you do that?!
