Visit to the surgeon... went GREAT!
Aug 03, 2010
Had a follow-up with my surgeon (Dr. Webber, Harper Hospital / Wayne State University Surgeons) and things went very well today. I had been damn nervous and I am not sure what the fuss was about - it all went off w/o a hitchTypical wait in the Harper Medical Bldg - it is such a mixed crowd of bariatric patients and then the general mix of people that use the WSU University Surgeons (they are a popular group). Us fat-folk tend to congregate near one end of the waiting room....
Weigh in : 360 lbs / 50.3 BMI / 47.7% Body Fat.... depressing when I consider that I had a Lap RNY in April 2006, but I do feel good that I have dropped 10 lbs in the past 45 days as a result of my new diet...the 'C''s
1) Carbonation - eliminate (or throttle WAY back) on all things carbonated... so long Coke Zero and the occasional beer :(
2) Coffee Cream - this has been tougher... but I am working on switching over to the non-dairy stuff and weaning myself
3) Carbs... - baby steps, and I have not even begun to tackle this one
Back to why I had a great visit - got Dr. Webber to agree to a revision by adding a Lap Band over my existing stoma. Now I jus tneed a visit to the PCP for a new letter of neccessity and EKG and a visit to a head shrinker to get a Psych consult letter for the insurance.
Added a goal - get this paperwork wrapped and faxed in by Aug 16!! Dr. Webber is boarding surgeries 3 weeks out so I could theorhetically be having surgery right around Labor Day...
