I have been battling weight all my life. I was a chubby baby, chubby child, thinned down as a teenager by dieting and stayed that way pretty much through college. It was work. So I guess I can safely say I am not naturally thin. Over my life I've had my ups and downs with weight, but mostly in the 20-30 pound up and down range. As I got older the pounds kept sneaking on. I have tried diet after diet, lost and regained time and again. There was one period in my 40's where I lost about 35 pounds and kept it off for 7 years. Then I got divorced and put on weight. Then I remarried, was blissfully happy, especially because my husband loved food as much as I did. Unfortunately he passed away suddenly 2 1/2 years ago. So, I put on more weight. I realized last spring that I now weighed more than I ever had, more than during my pregnancies. My health started going down hill, problems started cropping up, and I just did not feel healthy at all. That is when I discovered weight loss surgery. A coworker had "the sleeve" about 2 years ago and looks amazing. I saw her befor picture. I decided this was for me and started looking for a surgeon. I am so happy I found Dr. Vaimakis. She is wonderful, explains everything well, and is totally there for you. I can't wait for my surgery this coming week and starting my new life, losing weight, reaching my goals, and gaining my health back.
