Feeling better

Mar 19, 2010

I am starting to feel better. I havent been doing much in the ways of housework, and trying not to lift my almost 2 year old daughter. Today we took them to the playground and we walked the park trails..over a mile! No discomfort whatsoever.
I tried a new meal tonight for dinner. Hubby got me a piece of grilled chicken and mashed potatoes and gravy from KFC..whizzed it up in my Magic Bullett to a nice puree. Looked like crap, but didnt taste so bad.
I am suprised at the volume of food that I am able to eat. I thought after this surgery I would only be able to handle 2 or 3 bites of something but that is not the case, at least with soft foods. I hope this changes once I am able to start eating solid foods. That 29 days post op cant come soon enough! I am so sick of cottage cheese, yogurt, soup and protein shakes.

I did it!

Mar 17, 2010

well, I had surgery on 03/02/10. All went as expected. I had a great surgeon and was treated well by all his staff.
I am still in some pain 15 days out, which I find suprising. I was off of pain medicine within the first week, but then I over did it with some light housecleaning and my insides started to burn. I have been taking it easy the past couple days doing absolutely nothing, but today, ventured out to Target, and again, my insides were screaming. It's actually kinda scary that I would still be feeling this way, as I have had 2 c-sections and an appendectomy and was never in this much pain afterwards.
I have had no problems eating or drinking. I think the hardest part of this is the head hunger and figuring out what to eat.
I am not doing good with my fluids, and I can't stand the thought of another protein shake, but I get them in.
I am down 15 lbs from surgery date..
