Finally sleeved and at home!

Ok, so here is how the trip and surgery went. When we got off work Wed the 5th, we drove from Chattanooga to Atlanta to spend the night at a hotel that would allow us to spend the night and park there for up to 14 days for free. We got up Thursday morning, tried to find David something for breakfast, the hotel wasn't even waking up good yet, so we decided to go ahead and take the shuttle to the airport and get checked in for the flight and then forage for food there. David found breakfast, then it was time to board the flight. I hate to fly, messes with my stomach bad. This time wasn't so bad though, meet a wonderful young lady and had the 3 of us had a nice visit and then it was time to land! Cancun airport is a maze.
We finally got through customs and then it was time to find our shuttle to the hotel. Got checked in, of course David needed to have dinner, so we went to the hotel restaurant, and they had a soup and nacho buffet! David was in heaven, I just had the broth off of a few soups. We went to bed and I tried to sleep.
Got up the next morning and our arranged transportation to the hospital came to get us. We arrived at the hospital and finished our pre-op requirements. We finally got a room, waiting for time for surgery and then we find out there is an emergency birth occuring. Then about 6:30 pm they came to get me and took me to surgery. Sheri wheeled me to the operating room doors, hugged me, kissed my check and sent me in. Dr. V. and the crew were waiting for me. We held hands and prayed, Dr. V. stayed by my side as I was sedated. Next thing I know I am being wheeled to my room to my wonderful husband :). Don't remember much else that night.
Saturday, I was up and walking the halls, feeling sore but not too bad. Sunday came and I am so ready to check out. I had to drink the horrible blue stuff, when the non english speaking nurses came in to try to ask if I had drank it, I just stuck my tounge out LOL.
Then it was time to go drink the other nasty stuff and get scanned to see if there were any leaks. Nasty tasting stuff, blech. They said the scan was perfect, I asked to see. They took me into the reading room and showed me the scan and there it was, my new itty bitty stomach! Yay! now I get to leave the hospital.
We get to the hotel, get checked in and then check our emails. Oh no, our flight from Cancun to Atlanta has been canceled due to the storm. The first flight out is on Wednesday, two days later than we had planned. So we had to stay two more days, people were saying " what a bummer, being stuck in Cancun" I told them it stops being a vacation when you don't have a choice. We finally flew out on Wednesday, got to Atlanta and got our van, knocked the snow and ice off of it and drove home.
I am now preparing to return to work on Monday the 17th. I feel great, a little sore but really good overall. I would do this again in a heartbeat. I am down from 249 pre-op to 235  now. 117 lbs to go to goal! Thank you for letting me ramble. Love you guys and gals!
