HAPPY 2 YEARS TO ME

Feb 18, 2009

Wow- what a difference 2 yrs makes!  I have lost an amazing 155 pounds and feel to great most of the time.  I did have a spell with some low iron and had some infusions that went great but i feel fantastic.  i simply pray that i use this tool the rest of my life so that i never end up where i was again.  life is so much better when you can walk easily and go up and down stairs and go into any store an buy a pair of jeans.  i am so grateful to all that have come on this ride with me- it has been a ride of a lifetime and i am glad i took it.

Lucky for my mom, we're close enough that I can figure out most of her passwords in one or two tries. Anyway, the big news is that she had her RNY yesterday at 7am, and was out by 10am donig just fine. She is still in recovery waiting on a bed to open up this morning...but when we saw her last night she was doing well. In her words "I woke up, and I got to see you, and I'm not in too much pain...so I'm happy."
In comparison with her lung and gallbladder procedures, she seems to be experiencing less pain, though she did tell us that the moments after waking up were excruciating. She currently has automated pressurized compressions on her legs to keep them circulating, and is still not allowed anything by mouth until the first leak xray test is done this afternoon. I did not get the chance to meet Dr. Colella, but he has been to see her twice since I left the hospital yesterday at 3pm. Thank you for keeping her in your thoughts and prayers. Though I'm sure she's told you all that I was opposed to this procedure, she is important to alot of people on this side of the computer, and we're thankful that she's feeling well. Keep her in mind as she starts now on the scariest part of this journey...HER NEW LIFE! Pray that she will stay healthy, and that she will finally find happiness.
(Since I know you'll read this as soon as you get to your laptop...you have all the love in my heart, mom. I'm proud of you. And even though I can't be patched thru to you in recovery this morning...I've already called to check on you and they say you're laughing and look great. How couldn't you look great with that big smile on your face?!?! I love you.)

Almost there

Feb 05, 2007

Well, I had my pre op blood work today and I met with Melissa at Dr C's and had H & P.  I received a bottle of champaigne from Dr. Keenan for being 5 years out from having the tumor in my lung removed---yahoooooo.  So I have this pretty pink bracelet that I have to wear from now to surgery ..ugh!!  Well so we are on a count down to Feb 19.  I can't wait till I can walk through an entire store and not be in so much pain or so out of breath that I need to find a place to sit. Oh to feel healthy again.  I know I wont feel that right away but it is in the future hopefully.  I ask God to walk with me thorugh this journey and to bless me that surgery will be uneventful and life will be good.

APPROVED!!!!!!

Feb 01, 2007

I still cannot believe it but I got a call today from Patti at Dr
Colella's office saying I have been approved.  It only took 1 week.  I guess I really did not think it would be approved so easily.  I am so excited, scared, and nervous that I can barely concentrate.  I am scheduled for February 19, 2007 unless something changes or I chicken out. Oh my gosh that is just days away. Lord keep me calm through this
