18 Months Post op

Apr 28, 2011

Boy does time fly. The past year and a half have been a breeze. Learning to eat healthier. Trying to remember not to go down those old familiar paths into carb overload, eat slowly, wait 30 minutes to drink. Most of these things are ingrained in my brain now, but boy do some of the old habits die hard. My NUT has a saying that we don't have surgery to stay the same. So why is it that I keep wanting to eat those same foods (mainly breads & crackers). Some other posters have mentioned having to really watch what they eat for fear of gaining the weight back and I can totally relate. I've put on 10+ pounds since December. The weird thing is that i gained 5 pounds in one week...two times....and this was when I was making a huge effort to journal every bit of food, and was mostly eating under my calorie allowance for the day. I guess my body just decided it wanted a few pounds on it. But I'll show it who's boss!!! I'm still determined to get into the 150's. I'm not as far away as pre-op, that's for sure.

Now for some fun stuff.

I entered a 5K race in Monterey this Sunday. I'm so excited!!

Still wearing 10-12's

Enjoying life.
