1 1/2 Months Out

Dec 15, 2011

I am a little over a month and a half out from surgery. I have lost 48 lbs total. I feel really good. My breathing is so much better, my hand's used to ache and now they don't hurt at all. I am so happy I had this surgery. It has been a struggle on & off with hunger, I still have issues with food. I was not one of the lucky ones who "forget to eat". I was hoping that would be my case, no such luck. Also, for some reason I was under the impression that they weight would just come off & I would have to do much about it. Wrong, this is work & you have to work at it in order to be successful. It is not magic. This takes work and dedication, I had to learn this. When I first had my surgery I thought I was going to fail. I was so hungry, eating more than what I was told. Advancing my stages of food. What helped me change my thinking was getting the hospital bill in the mail. 66,000.00. I looked at that & told myself I cannot waste that money. Plus it gets easier dealing with food as time goes on. I am not a person who has problems with junk food. I am not into fast food, sweets, fried foods. That has never been my problem. I am a healthy eater, my problem has always been I am a volume eater. So this VSG so far has really helped me out as far as volume goes. I would recommend the VSG surgery to anyone who is aware that it takes some effort to be successful.
