Gained a pound

Blah. I gained a pound. Technically I gained 6 lbs but since I didn't record the last weight drop because it wasn't a Monday, I only gained a pound from the last weigh in.  I weigh every day. Not because I stress over the scale but I like to see what the fluctuations are and compare to what I ate that day. See tomorrow I could drop 8lbs and not even blink. I was all over the scale last week. I dropped 4 lbs in one day just to gain it all back the next. I think it's mostly water weight that fluctuates so much but it's nice just to see the changes so I don't freak out when I look at my official weight in day and see I gained a pound.  Another thing I didn't do this past week is walk like I normally do. See Tuesday my walking buddy was sick so I just took the dogs for a mile walk and didn't go 3 miles as I normally would because I'm lazy and hate exercising. Hence why I have a walking buddy to hold me accountable.  The Thursday walking session I had to abandon because my new pup got injured and I had to take him to the vet. He's fine but I was worried. So that's 2 days lost walking. I did go for a mile walk on Saturday but I was really lazy and spent all day sleeping on Saturday. I was just really tired and needed to sleep I think. I was also terrible about my fluids. I don't think I drank more than 20oz on Saturday and while I was a bit better on Sunday I did not get in nearly close to goal. Bad me. Probably another reason I didn't lose any weight. So today back to drinking. Filled up my cup 2 times now and had 2 cups of tea and my protein shake so we are back on track with fluids.

Also  this week I plan to get back on track with my exercise starting tonight with swimming if everyone's health is back up to par and then walking this week whether I want to or not. I really need to keep walking. As long as I walk my 3 miles 2 times a week I lose. Soon I will be hitting the gym a few times a week but probably not until next month. I need to do some strength training because I have no upper body strength at all. My legs are strong as oxen from carrying around my butt all this time but I really need to develop my muscles which will also help burn off some more fat.

Also I ate an artichoke last night with some greek yogurt and lemon juice and dill and it was YUMMY! I love artichokes and since you scrape the leaves with your teeth it's like automatically small bites and so I don't have to really think about eating slowly. :-)
